What Will You Learn?

  • Whatever activity we do in life comes with some risk, some more risky than others.
  • It is our responsibility as aikido coaches to provide a safe environment for the activity taking place,
  • providing a duty of care, in this case provide a safe dojo and training.
  • By the end of this course you should be able to:
  • Describe the potential safety hazards found in your coaching environmen
  • Understand the responsibilities of ‘Duty of Care’.
  • Conduct a safety check on facilities and equipment.
  • Offer guidance in the promotions of safe practice and prevention of injury.
  • Structure a coaching session which will reduce risk of injury.
  • Structure warm up and cool down to reduce risk of injury.
  • Explain appropriate emergency procedures including accident recording.
  • Monitor the health and safety of participants.
